White flour, mostly milled from wheat or corn, is the main ingredient in many kinds of food all over the world. It is so common and flavourless that we don’t usually put much thought into it. We simply assume that it isn’t that bad since it is derived from plants after all. But how wrong is that! Research has shown that white flour is often bleached to give it its whiteness and lightness. They are heavily processed, stripping it of ALL nutrients. Not only is it nutritionally depleted, it also raises the risk of diabetes and other preventable diseases. There are many better nutritionally-rich alternatives to white flour which our bodies will thank us for.

Ingredients

2       cups almond flour
2       tbsp dried herbs (we used oregano)
2       tsp garlic powder
¼       tsp sea salt
1        tbsp coconut oil
2       tbsp water

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180℃. Line a flat baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine into a dough using hands.
  3. Transfer dough to lined baking tray. Cover dough with another sheet of greaseproof paper. Flatten dough using hands. Roll dough to 3-5mm thick using a rolling pin.
  4. Remove the top greaseproof paper. Cut dough into desired shape using a pastry cutter or knife.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15mins until golden brown and crispy! Leave to cool on cooling rack before cracking them up!
