Whenever I serve this appetiser to my friends, they watch the entire process (which takes about 5mins?), dips a cracker in and then usually go, “Wow it’s unbelievable.” This 5-ingredient quick and easy guacamole packs a punch of flavour from the fresh lemon juice and minced garlic. Well, not many can handle raw garlic because of its sharpness but the flavour is completely rounded off by the lemon and the fat from the avocado in this recipe.

Raw garlic provides exceptional anti-bacterial properties and is especially good for fighting against inflammation in the body that shows up in the form of sore throat, cough, flu and other ailments. Some people actually crush and chew raw garlic as an ancient remedy. Having tried it, I have to say…it stings, but works. No need for extremities if you nourish your body well all the time, if not most of the time. Have this nutritious and easy guacamole as a dip, or luxurious spread on toasts or even toss them into pastas and noodles!

Ingredients

1 avocado
1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tsp minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Seed the avocado and scoop out flesh into a small bowl. Mash with a fork, leaving chunks for extra texture.
  2. Stir in lemon juice, minced garlic, salt and pepper.
  3. Serve with crackers, on toasts or basically anywhere.
